Online business and electronic commerce (eCommerce) in Indonesia might reach 19 million transactions worth a total Rp 5 trillion (US$478 million) this year, experts say.

“The figures are only for goods transactions, we have not even airplane tickets or hotel reservations,” eCommerce analyst Andi S. Boediman said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday.

Online shopping portal Tokopedia founder and chief executive officer (CEO) William Tanujaya said that in line with the growth of eCommerce, distribution service businesses would also grow. William predicted the growth of distribution services, for eCommerce businesses wanting to distribute their products, could reach 20 percent.
