Before HaloDoc, Doddy was a venture capitalist with InvestIdea, a fund focuses on accelerating early-stage internet and technology companies in Indonesia. Now as a VC turned into entrepreneur, Doddy sees himself as a venture builder. Doddy Lukito is working as a Chief Integration Officer at HaloDoc, formerly known as M-HealthTech. HaloDoc is a secure e-healthcare platform that unites patients, doctors, insurance, pharmacy, labs, and other healthcare stakeholders in simple mobile-first solutions.
HaloDoc’s last funding round was led by Singapore-based VC Clermont Group, along with Indonesian transportation and payments giant GO-Jek, e-commerce platform Blibli.com, and NSI Ventures. According to Doddy, the funding is mainly for product development to continue refining our product to make it easier to use for users, and targeted marketing to raise awareness to the Indonesian consumers. Let’s chat with Doddy and get thoughts about the way a healthcare startup and medical ecommerce work in Indonesia.
What make Halodoc different from other healthcare startups such as AloDokter, Klikdokter, Prosehat, Tanyadok, Udoctor, and Dokter.id?
Minz’s Growth Hacking Note
From my growth-hacking quick check, a majority of Alodokter’s traffics comes from searches, mostly for diseases and drugs information searches, a result from their rich content medical library of 330.000 pages. HaloDoc seems to be very strong in mobile app, while Alodokter dominates in desktop.
Now with the support of one of the investors Go-Jek, your service can deliver medicine to 35 cities in Indonesia? It’s not conflicted with Go-Jek’s GoMed service?
We are not competing. Gomed is actually Halodoc . When Go-Jek users tap on GoMed icon in Go-Jek apps, it will open Halodoc apps. If the user does not have the apps yet, then it will redirect to Playstore or Appstore to download Halodoc apps.
